'Savvy' Savannah Simon Motivational + Entrepreneur + Visionary
“Be an Eagle - Not a Seagull”
An entrepreneur, activist, and public speaker, ‘Savvy’ Savannah Simon is a born leader with a natural desire to stand up for what she believes in. Living a life with true intention, everything from her professional to her personal life has a meaningful purpose and has contributed to the messages she’s shared with her many different audiences.
Coming from the Mi’kmaq tribe of Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick, her roots have propelled her to create the revolutionary project #SpeakMiqmaq, a social media movement dedicated to encouraging Indigenous people to speak their language. Not only is the hashtag for children and elders who lost touch with Mi’kmaq, the movement extends to educators to use in their curriculum through YouTube videos, as well as inspiring other tribes across North America to start their own movement.
Savvy has been titled a “Kickass Canadian” and is one of Canadian Livings “Top 40 Female Change Makers”, and just one conversation with her will show that these titles are well earned. In addition to her efforts to sustain Indigenous languages, she is an activist and dedicates her time to educating others about the injustice happening in Mi’kmaq country. She is also devoted to public speaking and cherishes “having the opportunity to bless a lot of hearts”. Her recognition of today’s young leaders has motivated her to influence the next generation to be kinder and more open-minded.
Striving to live a life fueled by optimism and introspection, Savvy has used her platform to positively influence others one motivational video at a time. Her social media is filled with reminders to invest in self-care and practice gratitude, and her uplifting energy is contagious. Savvy continues to inspire others to become the best version of themselves everyday through her social media, YouTube channel, and motivational talks.
